I won't lie, I used to get upset with my parents on my birthday when I was younger. Not out of anger that I didn't get a gift I wanted or a big celebration, just, a lot of the time they just straight up didn't remember my birthday. It might've been selfish, but I was pissy and it hurt to think my parents didn't care. Now, in my mid-twenties, half the time *I* forget my own birthday. Happy Birthday, Dom!

I think when you’re celebrating someone’s birthday you’re just showing this person that you’re happy she/he was born and is in your life. You celebrate that person’s importance for you. And when you have birthday you show gratefulness that others remember and care enough to spend their time with you :)

When I was 16 I used to think that after I turn 18 no one is gonna scold me for partying late night and going out with my friends. But things didn't turned out as I thought it would. And I still get scolded for coming home late night and going out with my friends frequently. The only thing that has changed is earlier I used to live with my parents and now I'm living in a dorm. And now I have my own personal lifestyle that I feel suits me well. Not the one imposed by my parents.

So in order to overcome those bad influencers you gotta learn to say NO. In a year you would be called a grown up and you seem to be pretty serious about it after all... I Know.. I know... that right now I'm talking like an old dad but trust me these things do matter. And I wasn't a smart one so I had to face a lot of difficult situations from time to time. I am born on leap day! I am 26 years old, but I only had 6 ''real'' birthdays. (so I am ''6,5 years old'' in that way..) When I was a kid my family celebrated my birthday on the 28 feb when it wasn't leap year, sometimes on 1 march if my mother was only free that day. And when I was really young, they celebrated both days! However, when it IS leap year, we still have an extra big party/extra nice food when it is my real birthday. I was a little bit teased about my ''real age'', but I always loved being born that day. Also an other issue I had when I was a teenager! When I was creating accounts for gaming or social media sites (more than 10 years ago) I sometimes couldn't use my birth date to tell how old I was, because the websites didn't recognized my birthday as a real date!!

For my birthday I went to a restaurant with my parents and it was so delicious and nice, I got some gifts and a nice time ^^ I feel like it's important to go out somewhere on your birthday and make it a special diner, we eat at home ever other day so it doesn't feel like a birthday otherwise. The next day is back to normal so doing something remarkable for once is a nice change :)
My birthday is exactly two weeks after Christmas and I love it. If there's something my parents would consider too expensive for Christmas I just ask them to get it for me as a Christmas present and birthday present combined. Which is good because a huion kamvas isn't exactly cheap.

I am born on leap day! I am 26 years old, but I only had 6 ''real'' birthdays. (so I am ''6,5 years old'' in that way..)
When I was a kid my family celebrated my birthday on the 28 feb when it wasn't leap year, sometimes on 1 march if my mother was only free that day. And when I was really young, they celebrated both days! However, when it IS leap year, we still have an extra big party/extra nice food when it is my real birthday.
I was a little bit teased about my ''real age'', but I always loved being born that day.
Also an other issue I had when I was a teenager! When I was creating accounts for gaming or social media sites (more than 10 years ago) I sometimes couldn't use my birth date to tell how old I was, because the websites didn't recognized my birthday as a real date!!

For my birthday I went to a restaurant with my parents and it was so delicious and nice, I got some gifts and a nice time ^^
I feel like it's important to go out somewhere on your birthday and make it a special diner, we eat at home ever other day so it doesn't feel like a birthday otherwise.
The next day is back to normal so doing something remarkable for once is a nice change :)

My birthday is exactly two weeks after Christmas and I love it. If there's something my parents would consider too expensive for Christmas I just ask them to get it for me as a Christmas present and birthday present combined. Which is good because a huion kamvas isn't exactly cheap.
